Locally Sourced Materials

The Dome kit does not include ground perimeter or foundation wall insulation, under soil ventilation duct and items in respect of the water tank as these are bulky, expensive to transport and easily available at a local builders yard. These items and their approximate price are outlined below.

The Growing Dome is provided as a kit and comes with an instructional video and booklet.

Detail of items not included with the Growing Dome:

1) Under-soil perimeter and wall insulation - 2" insulation board in moderate climates

2) Under soil ventilation duct - 4" black corrugated irrigation duct.

3) Water tank - 2 pieces of sheet metal 4' wide in the following lengths:

12' dome - 10' sheet .................................... Oval tank approximately 9’ x 3'

15' dome - 10' sheet .................................... Oval tank approximately 9’ x 3'

22' dome - 13” sheet ................................... Oval tank approximately 12' x 4'6”

26' dome - 14' sheet .................................... Oval tank approximately 13' x 5'

33' dome - 3 @ 10' sheet ............................ Circular tank approximately 10 ft Diameter

4) Timber for top and bottom tank bracing and for behind tank.

5) Metal tape and duct taping for exterior of tank. Sand to smooth bottom of tank.

6) Dome anchor stakes - 2’ * ½’’ rebar stakes or spikes

7) Foundation materials - cement mix and ¾’’ washed gravel.
